Singer-Songwriter Destinie Lynn & Cellist Chris Rorrer @ The Harmony Room, February 10

Singer-Songwriter Destinie Lynn & Cellist Chris Rorrer are performing at The Harmony Room on Friday, February 10! Come enjoy the finest of folk and Americana music in beautiful Eagle Rock.

Destinie Lynn is a multi-talented singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles, CA. Destinie’s music works within the American roots tradition, or what she affectionately refers to as “porch music” taking influence from the Delta Blues, Indie, Folk, and Americana.

Destinie’s voice is a rich, mellifluous tapestry evoking the affecting sensibilities of blues, jazz, and folk singers past, while her lyricism has been described as nuanced and literary-minded. Destinie writes soulful, often haunting songs that dive fearlessly into love, loss, and mortality; songs that highlight the daily struggles of the soul, all of which are featured on her recently released EP Little Ghost.

Chris Rorrer is a cellist, multi-instrumentalist, session musician, multi-genre composer & arranger, music producer, and music educator based in Los Angeles, CA. He earned his M.M. in Cello Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University in 2020, and his B.S. in Public Health Management and Policy from Oregon State University in 2014.  He is also a highly skilled vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist, and bassist. His proficiency in numerous styles has garnered him success in the classical, pop-rock, and improvisational/ experimental music worlds.

He released “Enraptured,” his debut pop/rock solo album, in 2017. Equally skilled as a bandleader as well as a sideman, Chris has recorded on countless albums and is an avid audio engineer and producer. His music is featured in film scores throughout the United States and Europe. No matter the project, a strong faith is the foundation from which Chris creates.

Chris is a classically trained performer and composer, as well as a fluent improviser. He has shared his music at venues ranging from lively rock festival stages to the most intimate and reflective church services. Always an educator, Chris seeks to give back to the community by helping empower the next generation of musicians to play from the heart.

Aside from making music, Chris enjoys speaking and studying Japanese, participating in improv comedy groups, social dancing, yoga, and spending time in nature.

Admission is $15. Tickets are available for purchase online at our Eventbrite page between now until February 9, 5PM PST, or purchase tickets at the door via cash or card on the date of the performance. Light refreshments will be available. You are welcome to bring a beverage or snack of your own to enjoy. Join us with your family and friends at the show!
